What our customers say
Theatre Learning have delivered some thought provoking, engaging and highly entertaining workshops for staff and senior managers on equalities and diversity issues in the workplace. This is not the easiest of subject matters to cover particularly moving from theory to practice, but their scenarios were delivered with professionalism and great humour.
We have had the pleasure of working with Theatre Learning over the last 5 years, who have delivered various training courses to our staff via role play learning. Short workplace scenarios are acted out in a professional and effective way focusing on the key areas of the training and incorporates interaction from the audience. Joe always keeps everyone involved, interested and engaged.
Feedback from delegates is always positive.
Joe and his colleagues are fantastic to work with – professional, well organised and fun.
We hope to use them again soon
I have recently had the pleasure of working with Theatre Learning, who delivered a range of role play learning events at our staff conference. The theme of the conference was embedding our Professional Behaviours, and working with Theatre Learning provided an entertaining and highly effective way to illustrate points (e.g. good practice, bad practice) about the various behaviours. The quality of the acting is excellent and very natural, and the scenarios were credible because they presented real life conversations that happen in the work place.
As lead facilitator, Joe handled the interaction with the audience during the sessions very well, keeping everyone interested and engaged. His intuition and experience enabled him to adapt the exercises according to the reaction of the audience. Delegate feedback has been unanimously positive, with many commenting that the key messages of the conference were more memorable because Theatre Learning helped to bring them alive.
Using Theatre Learning enabled delegates to observe and discuss behavioural based scenarios without the stress of having to do their own role plays. Joe and his colleagues are fantastic to work with – very professional, well organised and incredible fun!
I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone wishing to deliver high impact development activities focusing on changing behaviours and attitudes.
The Theatre Learning Team have been working with B&NES (Bath & North East Somerset) off and on for many years. They have in the past provided theatre learning for us on themes around; Customer Service, Equalities and Diversity and Harassment & Bullying. More recently over the last year they have been an integral part of our Councils “Changing How We Work” programme, the biggest change programme the Council has undertaken in 17 years, changing our working practices to a flexible working approach, significant changes to our ITC provision and to our office accommodation and how we use it…..all of this has meant that staff have had to undergo a massive behaviour change.
Theatre Learning have provided some brilliant half day role play events around a range of flexible working issues for staff to be able to explore and discuss their concerns in a safe and supportive environment. As a team they adapted the brief we gave them brilliantly, they came along and piloted it and then were responsive to our feedback and then we rolled out these events across the whole organisation in a range of venues. We have had consistently high levels of positive feedback from staff about these events finding them a fun but informative and safe way of learning. Theatre Learning have always been very adaptable to our needs not only in content but in terms of date and venue changes. They have subsequently come back and delivered a “phase 2” where we have delivered some bite sized behaviour embedment events as well. Always reliable and a joy to work with I could not recommend them highly enough and I think they are excellent value for money too.
We hope to use them again in the future.
I found it very easy to work with the theatrelearning team, you simply outline your requirements, then they take it away, do all the hard work, creating scenes which have a humorous way of hitting home the message and transferring the learning!!
Theatre Learning provides Diversity and Customer Services Training for the Learning & Development Partnership. Joe and his team are highly professional and they provide an innovative approach to training which has received excellent feedback from staff.
What our customers have said
The Safety Culture Team thank you and your team for the excellent training sessions you have provided.
The response to the sessions has been very positive. The way you and your team can react to the changing mood of the audience and keep them engaged was exceptional. Some “prisoners” from the course commented to me that the training was better than they had expected and thought it was a worthwhile course.
I am looking forward to working with you again in April.
Thanks for an excellent service
Theatre Learning has recently provided a programme of half day interactive workshops on Diversity for Exeter City Council which was rolled out to its entire staff.
The format of the workshops was one which used actors to portray workplace scenarios that focused on some of the problems that arise when Diversity issues are not properly managed.
This format is far better than standard role play sessions in that the message is put over in an effective way by the actors and delegates are actively encouraged to take part in the programme from the safety of their seats.
This type of training is very powerful in getting the message across to staff and far outstrips the standard tutor-led classroom sessions in terms of the quality of outcomes. Theatre Learning consistently provide an excellent product at a very reasonable cost and I am happy to recommend them to any other organisation.
Theatre Learning delivers events that are really engaging and make people think about the issues presented in a different way to a more traditional style learning event. What they do is always very well received by our employees and I would recommend using them to anyone.
Equalities and Diversity training is not the most popular course and traditional delivery tends to put our councillors off. Theatre Learning’s approach is innovative and thought provoking and really brings to life some of the issues which worry Councillors but which they feel they cannot bring up. The brilliantly acted scenarios made participants think deeply about attitudes and behaviours and the affect language and inappropriate actions can have on minority groups.
Most equalities course can only look at behaviours. Theatre Learnings’ approach tackles attitudes very quickly and effectively.
Theatre learning have been working in partnership with the Equalities and Diversity group at Bath and North East Somerset Council to deliver equality and diversity training. They have designed and delivered interventions to a number of our staff from Chief Executive, Elected Members, Heads of Service and to frontline staff.
They have had the capacity to deliver to large and small audiences in a number of locations for us. The standard of acting is very good and very convincing and the reviews from our learners have been excellent.
They have scripted specific scenarios at our request and worked with managers to ensure the objectives for the session met learning needs (attitudinal, behavioural, appropriate language etc). All staff have responded that Joe is an excellent facilitator and is very adept at managing difficult and aggressive audiences.
The company has been excellent value for money for us, we are continuing to commission them, and I do not hesitate to recommend them.
